[Help] Occidentalis v0.2 software on Raspbian 2014-01-07?

The software for https://learn.adafruit.com/pi-thermal-printer/overview is on the Occidentalis distro but it doesn't work with the Raspberry Pi board I have. I really doubt Adafruit is ever going to update it again. Is there anybody that can put the software from Occidentalis on Raspbian? I kinda want my printer up and running again. Had to get a replacement board.

It's kinda difficult to advise without knowing what software you need.

Maybe try following their instructions but using raspbian instead and see if they work and if not what exactly doesn't work. Once we know that we are more likely to be able to point you in the right direction.

Might also be worth popping adafruit an email.

I doubt there is anything specific that you need in Occidentalis. I suggest you put Raspbian on your new Pi and then download the printer stuff from github:
https://github.com/adafruit/Python-Thermal-Printer

All of the screenshots for configuring Occidentalis look like standard stuff you'll find in Raspbian, so the tutorial should still work. If you get into difficulty then ask here again.

I remember trying it before on Raspbian and not having it work. I can try it again. Didn't know there was software online for the printer either. :/

Edit: Using Raspbmc as my main distro for my printer and everything is working alright. :)
