Just thought it might be worthwhile pointing out that the link in Mikerr's first post is still valid, and still interesting

Big fish in a small pond. Bear in mind that PC sales run about 100 million per year, and cell phones and tablets total about 1 billion per year.

Now more than 3 Million Pi sold:

Those google-docs embedded graphs should update themselves now ;)

{edit} yes they did - great !
The hyperlink <http://www.raspberrypi.org/raspberry-pi ... lion-sold/> did not work.
is it possible to teach the proper address?

Thanks.

Know what you mean.
I do have some nice wallpaper though and I've got a bit of a roll end I could send you with a hand drawn Pi on it and we could pretend

Anyway - I'm off to hack the Santa Master Database to make sure I'm on the right list.

That blog post is historical: it was accurate when written, but is now very out of date. It was posted in the Summer of 2014 - more than 5 years ago!

It is not 'the latest information'!

Well it is guys like you who are stopping this plot from becoming a hockey stick ;)
Normally I get them in pairs but I only have one 1GB, one 2GB and one 4GB Pi's.
Only the Zero's I got in singles.
This tends to indicate production capacity is the limiting factor and perhaps some people have reached saturation?
Still it is an upwards trending plot and that is exponential.

Exponential growth is hard to sustain.
Someone with a more math brain might be able to fit a formula and let us know the prediction for the next 8 years.
Or has the last few years been a straight line due to ram prices?
10Million a year?
Another 8 years is another 80Million?

Exponential growth is also impossible to estimate from a linear graph.
A log plot would show a straight line and demonstrate if exponential, but needs proper statistical analysis to determine fit.

I am old enough to remember when we did graphical analysis by drawing plots on different graph paper.

A post from December last year said 23 million and it's now 30 million, so sales are up to 7 million per year.

Assuming they are not just going into a big warehouse and staying there, that's 6-7.2 million sales per year.

I know. Last month I toured an Amazon distibution facility, and within less than a minute of looking, I saw 2 Pi4s go down the conveyor belt! It never will stop amazing me how successful Raspberry Pi has been.

once i figured out how to change the swap file to 2gb, the 3B+ became instantly more useful to me. The 3B+ is a good unit. i have 2-4gb pi4b's and 1-2gb pi4b they get hot but they work! :-)

What were you doing that you needed more than 1GB of swap?
Pi3B+ is good, Pi4 is better except for that VC6 thing I can barely understand ;)

This snippet from twitter:
RaspberryPi wrote:Since it opened last year, the Raspberry Pi Store has sold 8,180 Raspberry Pis.
That's 1.3% of all the Raspberry Pi units sold in the UK in the last twelve months!
https://twitter.com/Raspberry_Pi/status ... 49088?s=20

So a bit of maths from that shows 12 month UK sales to be 629,231

Note that is UK sales. Worldwide, quite a bit bigger!

Yes, and the graphs in this thread are all based on worldwide sales too.

I've not seen a breakdown of pi sales by country ?
