New to PI and Arduino

Fri Mar 07, 2014 7:42 pm

Hey there,

I am new to both arduino and Raspberry PI however I am an experienced software developer in C++, C, and Java. I would like to research the development of GPS device for sailing and I am unsure which will provide me with what I need. It needs to store an application which I will be writing which does the signal processing from the GPS device and from I understand this sounds more like a PI solution.

Thoughts?

Thanks!

In my opinion, you almost certainly want to use an arduino if GPS isthe only rrequirement. It is programmed in what is essentially C, and has libraries for the GPS shield, and tutorials.
