How can I get crisper/clearer images at night(darker place)

Thu Jan 23, 2014 1:43 am

I am trying to make my image clearer(not that pixelated) in a dark place.

Here are my settings right now:

Code: Select all

$camSettings[1] = "-n -sh 100 -q 100 -w 1800 -h 1350 -co 15 -ISO 400 -rot 90 -br 55 -ev 5 -ex night -awb flash -mm matrix
The images come out pixelated and I was wondering if there is a better way of utilizing the settings - such as longer expose time, to make the images cleaner. Not very familiar with the Rpi camera settings. Any suggestions?

If you have the standard version camera module then there is no fix other than to increase the light.
If you have the noir version camera module then you can use an IR illuminator to get crisp (green) images at night.
Unless specified otherwise my response is based on the latest and fully updated Raspbian Buster w/ Desktop OS.

The problem is that I do not have access at the place where the camera is so I cannot actually increase the ligthing. Are there not any camera settings such as exposure, iso, etc... that will fix that?
