Rookie needs help on PI OS

Tue Jan 21, 2014 2:58 am

I downloaded the contents of Noobs to my sd and thought I installed Raspbian. (I had several choices so I may have picked the wrong one). When the os boots up it takes me to Scratch instead of a GUI for Raspbian. Can someone tell me where i went wrong.

Quit scratch and bring up a terminal prompt and type:
sudo raspi-config

Option 3
Unless specified otherwise my response is based on the latest and fully updated RPiOS Buster w/ Desktop OS.

You may be able to get back to the setup screen by hitting [shift] during boot to get back to the NOOBS screen. Sorry not that familiar with NOOBS installs.

If that does not work I know you can do it this way:
When booted to Scratch, Select File --> Quit or hit [Alt] [F4] keys:
After a few seconds of scrolling text, you will see a message telling you to hit [CTRL] [C] within 5 seconds.
Do that.

When terminal prompt comes up then type:
sudo raspi-config

Do option 3

Another way is to log in using SSH from a remote computer and run sudo raspi-config.
