The launch party won't be until a month or so after launch - we're so busy at the moment (and I don't see it easing up for a few weeks) that organising it is on a back burner at the moment. I can tell you that it will be in Cambridge (and probably in March or April), but we don't have any other details yet and we won't start sorting them out until March.
It won't be open to all comers, but we will be doing a sweepstake for some tens of tickets for forum members, so if you're in the UK you're in with a chance.

Actually, I was thinking of just using Gert. When he gets his full Netherlands on, he's *scary*.

And to think I used to live just down the road near Bishops Stortford.
Will the sweepstake for tickets involve payment for Travel? I hear there are several offers on at the moment for flights from Sydney.

Fantastic - I thought this would be happening on the 20th of Feb, which would result in myself participating in a one man launch party in country NSW Australia.
If we can have unofficial launch parties I'd like suggest one in Sydney, that's if anyone else is interested (please PM!).

I paid my way through Uni working doors in Liverpool. It's a useful life skill

My mental image of you changes on a daily - no, scratch that - HOURLY basis. Do you have one of those very flammable bomber jackets?

Sadly not. I always coveted them - so shiny! - but we were only ever issued polo shirts (50:50 cotton/polyester, relatively fire safe)

Re: Launch party?
How on earth could you possibly attend a party so soon after the arrival of your precious newborn?
You'll have to search for all the cables and plugs you have hidden in a bottom drawer, not to mention commandeering the family TV, and the swathes of cotton wool to wrap it in. You must learn to keep calm during the long nights of care (tinkering), and keep off your feet. Remember a Raspberry Pii is for life, not just a toy.

And soft as a mother's kiss on the skin, I have no doubt.

I vote that people who, er, I dunno... started a topic about a launch party get tickets? Or something.
Do you accept bribes? I'll bring you a portion of my Whisky gums?

Re: Launch party?
Any news on this? I've had these two pints for Liz and Eben for ages now and they've gone a bit flat.
Re: Launch party?
Once boards start getting to people, Liz and Eben will have some spare time for something like this. Still in trying to sort stuff out mode.

Would the beta-board winners be invited?
