Are we laying odds on which one it'll be this time & how far in advance?

But how will those of us who can't read a word of Danish (except øl) know that it's been announced?

The B+ was leaked further in advance than 3 days just no one seemed to notice for a day or two.

Afacit there had been isolated mentions on the web previously but what really blew it open was when a newbie bought one and showed up on irc with it.

What aromatic smoking materials have you been using? That PiFace CAD has been available since Sept 2013.

I thought that post was a spoof?
The date was suspiciously close to April 1st?

Your drugs aren't working. Mar 3rd is a long way off April 1st.

Definitely not a spoof. It was out on display at the Jamboree and at Electronica the week before. What surprised me was that it got absolutely no media attention, which was why I decided to blog it and grab an elusive exclusive. :)

But now you've got me thinking about what kind of announcement to make for next April Fool's

To avoid the Osborne Effect most organisations have a policy of confidential until announced and restrict pre-announcements to a need to know with an NDA.

So wait until September.

You can ... every day that passes brings us 24 hours closer.

I have to say this look great! But I am wondering if it would be released in different sizes like 4" or 5" which would be good for a menu system.

That makes some sense (though I remain unconvinced it's the best strategy) for successors to existing products but the raspberry pi foundation doesn't have any previous display boards whose sales will be disrupted.

Something I noticed when some information is released
1) It creates many more questions. People start asking for or flat out demanding more information (some of which might be subject to change).
2) People speculate and reach wrong conclusions. Then those conclusions are used to criticise the design.
3) Suddenly, everybody is an expert, no matter how little experience they actually have. If you don't do it the way they want it done, you don't know what you're doing.
4) If you start putting dates on things, people take it as a promise and don't appreciate that things can get pushed back for various reasons.
5) One person can complain very loudly about things nobody else cares about.

So if they know what they're doing and don't need outside input, it just creates more problems.

Or you can sit back and wait (stress-free) knowing that the folks at the 'Towers' will be providing the best cost-effective solution they can, as soon as they can. The track record so far is excellent IMHO.

ShiftPlusOne, I agree, well said.

Pi stuff, I have not had so much fun in years, computing-wise. Learning-wise, well I am learning lots too. Even my grandson looks with envy at the shiny new B+ in its pimoroni rainbow case (he is 19 months old) but knows if it is on or off and does not touch it if it is powered on.
