Docking Stations and The Pi

Hey I was curious if anyone had experience with plugging a raspberry pi into a usb docking station with video out?

Backstory: I work at a medical clinic and our doctors have laptops with access to special software. When our patients come in we would like for them to have a computer in the patient room so they can fill out a super basic questionnaire. So the idea was to use a USB 2.0 Universal Docking station, that we could have plugged into a Pi, to allow the patients to fill out the survey. Then when the doctor comes in, he could unplug the usb cable from the pi and put it in his laptop. We tried a startech docking station, which work well with Windows, but requires a pre install exe, which they have no linux install\driver(that i know of) for. I have contacted startech to see if they can help me out. In the mean time i have done a little research into a product made by a company called plugable, http://plugable.com/products/ud-160-a, and this docking station appears to work with Fedora, so i could possible use Pidora, instead of Raspian(currently using). I was just curious if anyone has done anything like this. I have made it work with what i currently have, but you have to unplug the usb, then press 3 buttons on the monitor, i just cant trust doctors not to mess that up. If you need anymore info please let me know.
