Laser distance meter

Mon Nov 18, 2013 10:54 pm

I want to know is it possible to connect RPI or Arduino to laser distance meter like this $10.44 device :?:
Probably someone already has instruction for it.

I don't see any data ports so I would think interfacing an Arduino or Pi would be pretty unlikely.

Yes, you right, there no "prepared" data ports, but probably it is possible to make a hack... you know. ;)
If there are electric details, there are data ports. You need just connect and get data.
I think it is not good idea to pay $99 for same device only for "ready" data ports.

Hi,

This is not laser distance meter... this is ultrasonic distance meter.

Best regards, Ivan Zilic.
Running out of GPIO pins and/or need to read analog values?

Oh, sh... My fault.
They announces measure distance from 1.5 Feet to 60 Feet. ...

In any case, I'm looking something like this solution. Cheapest variant with detailed instruction.

this may help you... http://blog.qartis.com/parsing-laser-di ... al-output/

the most important part is to connect the lasermeter to arduino . If it is prperly done then you can write on lcd or send it by using this or that way...
