I found it works using most USB to microUSB cables because the supply has 5v and 1a and I've tested It out

I'm using a Amazon Kindle charger which is 1.8A max. I'm not sure if it is always able to output that much or require some USB talk between the device, but Pi just working well so I ignore that.

FWIW, you may be interested in these measurements: http://www.cpmspectrepi.webspace.virgin ... rger_A1399 (esp. when compared with those for the "clone" that follows)

"FWIW, you may be interested in these measurements"

That's a very comprehensive set you have there!

I see your zip-drive has a UK plug. Both mine have an "infinity" type socket instead. I've actually used one of them as a 5v. supply on one of my bicycles, by connecting its input to a Shimano dynamo :)

This page is cool! I think it should be added to RPi wiki.

Thank you. As it happens, those PSU's whose loading characteristics I've measured and I've used to power a Pi or two have been added to the wiki by me (if they weren't already there) with a reference link.
