a few suggestions for noobs!

Mon Nov 04, 2013 5:34 am

this one's for you rdb:
in my first post i appreciated noobs a lot 'cuz i really liked it,
but as i use it more and more few suggestions pop up as i am continuously comparing it with "berryboot"

things that need to be introduced:
1)freedom of installing or deleting an os without disturbing others
2)updation on the noobs
3)updation of the OSes from within noobs
4)use of simple *.img file as a source of installation
5)selecting the *.img file stored in an "EXTERNAL drive" for installation
6)installation of the os to an external/network drive i.e keeping noobs on the card and OSes on a bigger hdd

things need improvement/modification:
1) the browser should be brought to the main menu and not to the recovery menu
2) the option to partition 512mb sdcard(good idea) should have option for variable size

things that are perfect and i really like
1) each OS uses its own kernel , unlike in berryboot
2) it is directly connected to the foundations server

thnx for ur time ;) :D

Possibly the OS is read and run from the .img file, without needing to flash
I'm happy to help.

NOOBS is all open source (see https://github.com/raspberrypi/noobs) so if you wanted to work on any of these additional features then we would happily include them from a pull request! :-)
