Using a Pi with a PA system and projector?

Tue Oct 08, 2013 10:12 pm

Hello there everyone. First off, let me say that I know little to nothing about coding and as yet have no RP(s) of my own. But I was wondering how feasible it would be to run a music output through one and from there, hook it up to a projector showing visualisations (like the plugins that can come with video/audio software kind of stuff). Has anyone done anything like this, or is it even possible?

Sounds very possible. Use the audio jack to connect to the PA and plug the hdmi output into a projector.

My Pi Presents (see sig) will allow you to make shows of the videos and to redirect the sound to the audio jack.

I did try it once myself, very quickly. It worked but the projected output was very small. I suspect this was because the projector had a smaller resolution than my monitor and I would need to reconfigure the Pi (config.txt).
