Running a USB micro projector

Tue Sep 10, 2013 4:11 pm

Just ordered a Pi to play movies in a motorhome. Rather than the obvious tv or monitor to play it on, I was wondering if it would be possible to play the movies via a USB micro projector like this:

I'm guessing not as it runs via USB and probably needs to be set up via windows, but I thought it was worth an ask.

For movies you'll need omxplayer and it will not support the usb projector, even if it is recognized and supported by a linux driver.
Minimal Kiosk Browser (kweb)
Slim, fast webkit browser with support for audio+video+playlists+youtube+pdf+download
Optional fullscreen kiosk mode and command interface for embedded applications
Includes omxplayerGUI, an X front end for omxplayer

There are micro projectors that have HDMI inputs - I would expect one of those to work fine with the Pi

Here is one, not much larger than a Pi, although a bit more expensive! HDMI 1080p input, but output is only WVGA (854 x 480)
