NOOB - Touch Screen

Sat Aug 31, 2013 3:40 pm

I have a Samsung LMS430HF12-003 display that I gutted from a old GPS unit that I had and I was thinking it might be used as a screen for the PI, but I have no idea how to connect it and get it to work with the PI, I know I am going to need to get some hardware to get it to work with the PI just not sure what. Can anyone help out please?

Since you used the word noob in the title I thought I'd point out that is not really a noob type project. There are trade-offs between time it would take to get it working and the cost. You might want to consider spending a little and getting a display that comes with some documentation and a relatively simple interface.

I played around with one from 4D systems. See...

I got one of the 2.8" TFT touchscreens texy was selling, it is pretty good for a noob as everything is pretty simple to set up, and it would well with pyGame and X server.

Send him a message if you want one: http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/membe ... le&u=12676
