mine has just arrived , royal mail 2nd class post , got the "shipped" email on 2.5.12
Farnell Ref: 16457099
Your Order number: 29/02/2012 08:38
hopefully those in and around that order number will have there`s sitting on the door mat when they get home
Re: Email from Farnell
I've got my Order Shipped email now, and I am delighted to be in the "First Edition" batch etc.
But the only shipping promise I've seen from Farnell is "Delivery Method Same day dispatch (free)"
So, if it takes until next wednesday to turn up then that's no big deal considering we have all been waiting months anyway and there are 300,000+ more people waiting much longer.
The world isn't going to end because of a few more days.

Re: Email from Farnell
Well, I can"t see my personal mail from work, but my order status at Farnell has now changed to "complete" so my Pi should hopefully be shipped today!
No email from RS though.....

Re: Email from Farnell
Mine has come today, definitely 2nd Class Royal Mail. Only took 2 days from dispatch notification, so not bad.
Now, what to do with it....

Re: Email from Farnell
Mine dispatched on 2/5. Still nothing today, London. Rubbish, royal mail that is. Last week they "hid" a parcel in my bin where it was promptly collected by the bin men!
Re: Email from Farnell
Of all the delivery problems I have heard of - that is probably the most tragic... Put a sign on your trash bin: "Not for packages".
Re: Email from Farnell
The fact that they appear to be sending them by 2nd Class mail obviously isn't helping at all... especially in city areas such as London, where there is a very high volume of mail passing through the sorting offices.
At least there is a chance that some will be delivered on Saturday!

Re: Email from Farnell
Mine was dispatched yesterday too - was expecting it today, but when I contacted them they said 2nd class post. To say this is a disappointment is an understatement!
Re: Email from Farnell
Received mine today :) , posted 2nd class in a padded envelope so that its fits through the letter box.

Re: Email from Farnell
CPC (part of Farnell) are still telling me mid to late August. Looks like their dispatching in date/time order is way off as people with order numbers greater than mine are receiving theirs.

Re: Email from Farnell
Just to confirm mine was dispatched on the 2nd and arrived today (4th).
Mine was Royal Mail 2nd Class. For anyone wondering my postal code is Derbyshire.
Just noticed on the label (just about the address to the right) it says 1800 RPI RM, I thought they are on the other 4k? Could just be a coincidence or they never removed it from the last batch.
Its tiny, literally the same width/height of a cigarette packet.
PS the torrent seems to be much faster then the manual download.

Re: Email from Farnell
Correction, mine did arrive today. Postie didn"t leave it in a bin but did leave it with a neighbour without telling me! Luckily the neighbour wasn"t a Pi fan and brought it over
Re: Email from Farnell
just got mine in the post, plugged it into a 3A hub for power, slotted in my 16 GB sandisk sd card, booted up and posted this

Hopefully in about eight weeks time I will be doing the same thing!

Re: Email from Farnell
mine turned up fine 2nd class post on Saturday.
I'd like to add that boy is it small…. I know the size before but it's still small …
and http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0047T6XME <- that works with latest debian no worries,
I have it powered via a blackberry usb lead, with small keyboard and mouse , NIC and no issues.
all lights on.
I'll be back later ..
I may be some time

Mine is waiting at home having been delivered today apparently.
These are all from the first 10000, with the reworked network socket and (possibly) different silk-screen on the PCB without the CE mark. I so wanted one of the first 10,000, to me they are the historical first edition. Daft, I know, but that's humans for you. The early 6AM start was worthwhile after all.

Re: Email from Farnell
My colleague wants me to keep the Farnell JiffyBag as part of my Pi's provenance should I ever appear on Antiques Roadshow in 40 years time!

Re: Email from Farnell
Mine arrived at work today, 2nd class post.
Jiffy bag is a bit big really for the size of the Pi!!!! It is so small!
Now just need to get all the other bits: SD card; Power Supply (if the one old supply I have at home doesnt work); HDMI lead; USB Hub; keyboard + mouse (don't think old ones I have at home will probably do) +++
Then watch as many 'how to' videos as possible!
Still, fun times ahead!
