OpenVPN Install

Hi,
First post and I'm a complete newbie so please accept my apologies in advance for any silly things that I may write below...

Basically, I would like to install OpenVPN on my Raspberry Pi (where I did setup Raspbmc sucessfully). I did find the following instructions on the Giganews website as I have an account with them but these instructions are for Ubuntu:

I did google it as well but in most instances tutorials seem to relate to the set up of an OpenVPN server on the raspberry pi to be able to access remotely your private network (if I understood correctly...). This is certainly very interesting but what I'm trying to achieve is to use OpenVPN on my raspberry pi to access the internet 'anonymously' from the raspberry pi.

Could anybody help me with this by any chance?

If you are referring to the instructions on the Giganews website (correct URL is: http://www.giganews.com/support/vyprvpn ... envpn.html), no I did not because some of these (steps 6 to 9 to be more specific) seem to relate to a GUI e.g. "Click on the Network Manager icon" - Is this possible in Raspbmc or would I need to create and configure the VPN connection using command lines (these are not indicated on the Giganews website)?

I actually decided to use PPTP instead. I used the following instructions:

I have tried the Ubuntu VyprVPN instructions.
The first problem I encountered was with the following command:
sudo restart network-manager
The pi complains that the command restart does not exist.
I also tried installing network-manager, but I couldn't find any way to open network-manager to configure a VPN connection.
