Hi,
this is just to confirm that the USB dongle as supplied with Asus Zenbooks works on the Raspberry Pi Model A without any configuration required.

Re: Ethernet USB dongle - Asus ASIX AX88772B
Thank you, that's useful to know - perhaps you could add it to the wiki (http://elinux.org/RPi_VerifiedPeriphera ... t_adapters) . FWIW, you might also be interested in this thread of mine:Peterleroux wrote:Hi,

Trev.
Still running Raspbian Jessie or Stretch on some older Pi's (an A, B1, 2xB2, B+, P2B, 3xP0, P0W, 2xP3A+, P3B+, P3B, B+, and a A+) but Buster on the P4B's & P400. See: https://www.cpmspectrepi.uk/raspberry_pi/raspiidx.htm

Will do Trevor.
These seem pretty pricey as replacement parts, but I got one with my new laptop, so it's nice to know it works with the pi, given how spotty support is for USB->ethernet dongles generally

Re: Ethernet USB dongle - Asus ASIX AX88772B
Hi, I have a ASIX AX88772A, and just to warn people, this adaptor does not seem to play well with a Pi model B running the latest raspbian.
Initially, everything seems OK, but upon returning to check some hours later, the Pi is invariably locked up, cannot access via USB/Hdmi or the onboard ethernet.
Quite annoying as I bought two of these from ebay.
Nothing in syslog either...
If anyone else has had a similar problem and managed to sort it out then please let me know.

What a difference a letter makes... I am using an AX88772B for the past day or so on an rpi configured as a router. This device came with a zenbook. I ran speedtest.net and it supported by ISP link @ 30 mb/s, IPv4 and IPv6. no crash or glitch of any kind.

I have another cheapo adapter, and it crashes the pi after a few minutes, but the Asus one works perfectly. clearly ymmv.
