Modularis meets Raspberry Pi

Sat Jun 29, 2013 2:20 pm

Hello,

I would like to introduce to you my vision of a highly versatile communications module for your Raspberry Pi, which enables

2x CAN (High-Speed, and 1 channel selectable by software for Low-Speed topology)
1x LIN
1x XBee Socket
1x galvanic separated Modularis I2C Bus connector for interfacing with modularis: www.aevum-mechatronik.de/modularis
1x 12Bit ADC with 8 channel multiplexer, and AS sensor interface: http://www.aevum-mechatronik.de/shop/ki ... S-170.html
1x AD Connector

Short: actually everything and more you need for realizing your controll task!

For bringing the module along for everybody I chose a crowd funding campagne on www.startnext.de/en/mod-berry where you find also a cut video.

At the moment the price is in the region of 65 euros including vat and postal services. This is actually a top price, but on the other
hand I ask myself: would you prefer modules which can less but are more expensive? For example variants of the module without a can or ADC or galvanic separation...

I would really appreciate a discussion about modularity and practical points of the system I would like to create together with you.

With kind regards

Dr. Mathias Bachmayer

This peripheral extension board is definitely interesting, despite the price. Can you provide some more technical details? The startnext site does not tell too much about it...
What hardware, chipset and software is planned for it?
