Fri Jun 21, 2013 4:48 pm

I am here in US, after "sudo raspi-config",
I have the following to choose:
en us iso-8859-1
en us iso-8859 15
en us utf-8

please tell me which one to choose? if you could, please tell me what's the difference between en us iso-8859-1 and
en us iso-8859 15 and en us utf-8? thanks

iso-8859-1 is "Latin-1 Western European", the default encoding for many things.

iso-8859-15 is like 1, with the Euro symbol € and a few others added and old ones removed.

utf8 is an advanced format that supports all character sets (as long as you have the correct fonts installed). Really, this is all you need.
