Is an rpi ok for 2x usb drives running extplorer

Tue Jun 18, 2013 7:37 am

A bit of background info.

I have a pogoplug pro with arch installed but its causing too many issues and was looking for another cheap solution.

All I want to do is have an RPI mod a run samba, a web file manager such as extxplorer and a basic http server plus be able to stream media to a max of 2 devices possibly at once, though unlikely at the same time and have rsync mirror files on my drives.

I have a Toshiba stor.e and Seagate expansion USB drives and wanted to power both, but I think I understand that I need a USB hub which is powered and does not back power.

With a pi work or am I going to have spend more to get what I need

I have a 7 port powered usb hub my hard drive is a Toshiba 4Tb. I have booted 2 differ Pis using this setup (1) your basic Wheezy and (2) a NOOBS install of XBMC. I have not tried 2 separate hard drives, but, I would not expect any problems.
