My Pi Has Shipped!

Funny story, on the release date a sour pus refused to accept that the Pis were real and boldly proclaimed that if the R-pi didn't ship in 30 days then it was just vapourware.  Today it is exactly 30 business days since the release date

I'm living in Ireland and it appears there is an issue with shipping overseas.

" The service selected is not available to the destination address / Downgraded, forwarded to consignee, selected service is not available"

Does anyone know whom the cosignee is in this case, would it be farnell?

Does it look like the package will be heading back to them?

Well maybe there is hope for me yet!  My Farnell order is timed at 0814 and so far people have been receiving 'shipped' emails from as late as 0802...

*if* Farnell are only emailing as they actually ship, *and* they only got their half of the batch delivered in person today.... I should be in with a shout once the remaining 8000 re-worked Pis arrive in the UK!

Can anyone notify a memeber of the foundation? I'd imagine they would want to be contacted on an update like this.

I better get onto Farnell right away.

Just used the 24 hour live help on their website, and I was told I would have to contact technical support instead if it"s an issue to do with an order.

Phone lines are now closed so no luck there, I will try e-mail but probably won"t receive a reply until monday when office hours resume.

This is a huge shame, it definitely sounds like Farnell paid for mainland shipping only, and sent the international orders by mistake!

How the hell that happened is baffling, but hopefully they"ll shed light on it soon.

Looks like UPS want to downgrade my upgrade for a grade thats lower than my current gradings!

Seem's like a big cock up on Farnell's part if they have used a courier which won't deliver to where you live. Fingers crossed that the mistake will be rectified expeditiously.

Maybe it just means it will be passed on to a courier that delivers in your area? You might still get it.

Good news, the update has gone green again!

And it appears that Simon H shares something in common with a tube of Smarties.

He has the answer!

It seemed like it was forwarded to the next courier for international shipments.

Maybe these "exceptions" are pretty common place and do not automatically mean there is an issue with the payment / destination.

CONGRATULATIONS! ... to everyone!  I'm really looking forward to those "here's what I'm doing with my PI"  threads!  Monday is going to be a good day! I sure wish the US wasn't two or more weeks behind!     Ah well, soon enough, I suppose.
