My Pi Has Shipped!

I've just had an e-mail from Farnell/element14 to say my Pi has shipped! I've even got a tracking number!

Looks like those of us lucky enough to get into the first batch should be seeing a Pi soon no matter who we ordered with.

Mine too! The odd thing is I didn't get my order thru till at least 8:00 as the site was inaccessible...not that I'm complaining

Same Here, "Your Order has been shipped" got a tracking Number too so can see when getting close

It has been on back order since 7:07am on the 29th Feb originally had a 12th March ship date for anyone that is interested in the details,

Interestingly enough I registered an interest in RS at about 6:15am but didn't get the email yesterday so must have been at least 1000 before me in just 15 minutes.

Yeah, according to the site I didn't place an order until 7:07, but it did take me 25 minutes to get through finding the right page, registering, and then placing the order, due to the number of page refreshes required.

Same here, although the tracking number they gave is bogus and not recognised by UPS as being valid.

Maybe it hasn't been shipped after all and Farnell is leading me on.

Patience matey!

The number is not "bogus" it just takes time for it to appear in the UPS tracking system on their site. This is perfectly normal daily occurrence with most couriers I've used.

It's either there's a little delay, or they wait til the package is scanned in at the first UPS depot.

Are all you folks getting word of shipment in the UK?  I ordered from element14 on the first day and just checked and my expected ship date changed from August 16th to August 15th.  8-(  Here's hoping they get some stock in the US soon...

Yeah, I'm in the UK. If element14 are shipping from their Leeds headquarters (I believe someone mentioned that Liz and Eben were in Leeds today hence that would make sense) then in theory a delivery driver could have it at my front door within an hour!

And another e-mail from Farnell just arrived:

As you know, the Raspberry Pi has been required to undergo CE testing prior to sale.

We are pleased to report that the outcome of this testing has been successful, following an accelerated application jointly conducted by the Raspberry Pi Foundation and Farnell element14.

We are despatching your Raspberry Pi now, and it should arrive with you in the next few days, the week commencing Monday 16 April 2012.

Once again, thank you for being heroically patient. We hope you’ll enjoy the limitless computing potential and enjoyment the Raspberry Pi offers.

BTW, my tracking number is now recognized on the UPS page,

with a status of "Shipping label has been created"

"A UPS shipping label has been created. Once the shipment arrives at our facility, the tracking status--including the scheduled delivery date--will be updated."

Ah, that's good to know. Hopefully it will be delivered to work sometime next week.

Just spoke to the Newark/element14 CS folks and they mentioned that they will be getting shipments monthly -


Jamie: they are shipping in Europe, we will start the first shipment by the end of the month 
Jamie: we have shipments coming in the end of April, May, June, July 


Sounds like they are working to get these out for folks in the US as well.

Just got my email too, and it says that it should arrive on Monday! Woop I ordered mine just after 8 too, so I am surprised that I was in the first batch! Excited now!

Slow down there :p It says its shipped and will be delivered the week beginning the 16th. I'm saying this now to prevent a thread of angry people at 5pm on monday

Got my email! Ordered 8:02 am on the 29th so I count myself as very fortunate – and very privileged – to have got one of the first ones.

Wait... UPS tells me it's a 2.6Kg package. What are these made of?!?

Sounds like they may have lost a load of registrations at the start..still what else can they do.

Look forward to hearing news of next lot of production so pis can be sent en-mass.

I wondered that myself. 2.6Kg?! I can forsee that being the weight of each one of the box of 50 Pi's that we saw being loaded into the back of the car!

I have to say I ordered a FIGnition as well whilst I was waiting for my Pi and it looks like they might end up arriving on the same day!

Up to 2.6kg must be UPS's minimum weight for that type of shipping I am guessing, mine says the same.

Hope it comes Tuesday instead of Monday as no one here to sign for it and too late to book Monday off!

Some lucky people have actually received theirs already (Friday 13th April!)

As one lucky AVForum member posted earlier:

"Just had mine delivered from Farnell/Element 14 - fantastic! I put the order in on the first day and got one - that's restored my faith in them. Don't think RS have shipped theirs yet "
