Can kindle acts as monitor to display xwindow?

Sat May 25, 2013 3:58 am

I've just finished the tutorial of kindleberry (following this link ... pberry-pi/)
However, the ssh + tmux seems only works for terminal.
If I type "startx", my DVI LCD monitor works fine (from HDMI to DVI), but kindleberry is not synchronized.

Then obviously, if I'm using kindle as a sole monitor, as soon as I "startx", kindle will not have any response from keyboard (although I know it is working in the pi itself).

Now the question:
Can kindle acts as monitor to display xwindow?
Is it simply not possible?

Hello there,

I authored the article, wasn't aware this conversation was going on. I'm glad you were able to find the solution. Luckily I just checked my referrers today and this thread is only a little bit old.

You're not going to find success using the tmux+ssh over usbnetwork, for displaying X Window. It might be possible if someone has been able to create a VNC client for this version of the Kindle, but I don't recall seeing one around.

I'll do some fact checking. Keep an eye on my blog, I'm going to post some new things soon. It's been a few months!
