I'm waiting for that first photo, preferably taken hostage-wise, next to a daily paper, to prove they do exist and are on UK soil.

Assuming they passed certification without any rework required...

That's what I am waiting for too. Perhaps a post of those factory pics Liz mentioned that they had put on display at the Beeb@30 event also!.

I'll have some news on this for you before the end of the day - I have to wait for some people to have meetings and make decisions based on them before I can let you know more, but we're excited too!

which day? today? what time zone? I mean, if you are in china, then you have about 2 and a quarter hours to go to inform the world of the great announcement !!! or if you are in Anchorage then we have over 18 hours to wait !!!!
I feel like that bank robber in the dirty harry movie after harry says,
"I know what you’re thinking. “Did he fire six shots or only five?” Well, to tell you the truth, in all this excitement I kind of lost track myself. But being as this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world, and would blow your head clean off, you’ve got to ask yourself one question: Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya, punk?”...
"I have just gots to know !!!!!" (sic) LOL

or end of Daytime - i.e. when sun goes down?
and is that Daytime in Cambridge or further south or north?
or midnight?

Re: 1950 Over Siberia
A moving bright light thought at the time to be a meteor, or something like that, was seen in the Siberian sky, around 21:00 their time last night. That bit is true.
Now the conjecture. Was it the rocket with the pi's taking off, or was it the pi's re-entering the atmosphere?
Gentlemen, "The Pi 'MAY' have landed!"

I have the source code for that screensaver (or a clone of it) somewhere. If I can find it, I will change it to a suitable Pi graphic....

Gin and Tonic o'Clock is the best time to post stuff. IMHO. Which is about 2 hours after beer o'clock.

Its just about warm enough for a BBQ.
Does that make beer o'Clock before or after Pimms o'Clock?

Soooo ... it appears that time has finally just stopped altogether ...
Well, I suppose that"s one way to meet a deadline ... just stop time until a very hot place becomes very cold

Re: 1950 Over Siberia
Isn't it in Parliament that they have a habit of 'stopping the clock' when legislation has to be passed by a specific deadline….and 23.59 continues for ….. well I suppose 1 (extended) minute.
Hopefully they won't take long to reject (re-)naming a 2nd hand Clock Tower as part of the Jubilee Celebrations….. "Ma'am we have great pleasure in naming this old tower with your name in your 'onour ….. of course, as a listed building, it will cost you a lot to maintain, but it won't be on our expenses any more."

At the risk of being told off, wouldn't that be a raspberry tart a totally different platform?
