...but at least it's got a price - £16.56 (plus postage and I assume VAT).

They seem to be running OK. I happened to wake up at stupid o'clock this morning and the first thing that came to me was "camera module". So I fired up the laptop and checked around. Ordered one from CPC at 0546  If it arrives tomorrow that'll be awesome because my first Pi arrived on 15th May last year. :D I'll give it a camera for its birthday present

Yeah - place order with CPC. As you say, hopefully arrive tomorrow.
Now where's the software to drive it?

To order from Farnell you need to order through the consumer micro-site as the normal site says out-of-stock.

If you are not a Farnell customer then you normally get redirected there automatically when searching for Raspberry Pi, but if I'm logged in as my Farnell account I had to click on the link that says Don't have a trade account? Click here to order your Raspberry Pi

I don't know when the business customers will get the option to order. Perhaps this is to give Pi fans an opportunity to get hold of one from the initial batch rather than letting resellers grab them all first?

Ugh, anyone know a store which has them in stock that'll ship to EU?

EDIT: I'll answer myself. RS has them.

This is very strange?

Either

1. CPC have millions in stock :)
or
2. Everyones asleep and hasn't noticed that they are on sale
or
3. Not many people want one :o

Simon
PS OR CPC say they have stock but they've all gone and their computer hasn't caught up :)

They certainly don't have millions in stock! I'd go for 2.

Awake and ordered, but also noticed that neither my pibow nor acrylic case appear to have a slot to allow the cable out... Hmmm... Not sure how to resolve that with no access to better precision tools than a Stanley knife!

Ordered one at silly o'clock this morning barely looked at the price ;)

£19.87 inc VAT really serves to show how cheap the Pi itself is...

It'll be interesting to see the demand since the XBMC media crowds are unlikely to want one.

Yeah RS and Farnell aren't making it too easy to buy them, they seem to be excellent at making nice little circular mazes from their sites.

As mentioned above Farnell seem to have CPC working ok though (I just hope they are in stock and not just saying they are).

Mine has apparently gone from "order received" to "processing" - I expect that means they are in stock. Two weeks ago at the Oxford Jam, the guys at RS said 14th May was the "plan A launch date" so I'm pretty sure there's nothing awry here. :)

Alex that is good to know. I buckled in the end and ordered one (if only so I can learn more how to use it - this thirst for learning is expensive).

I expect Pimoroni are on it as we speak, although designing a nice stand/holder will be interesting!

I just received an in stock notification from Farnell. I have a business account there, but made my order through CPC. I hadn't realised that both RS and Farnell would be showing "no stock" to business accounts. But when you want to be one of the first, you go where it shows stock.

The fact that they were already making these 24 * 6 two weeks ago means that there should be some reasonable stock levels to begin with. Managed to restrain myself from trying to order more than one though.

I tried to order two cameras from CPC, and I just got an email from them saying:

"Unfortunately we have been advised by management that we can only provide 1 x SC13023 per customer due to lack of stock and popular demand. Therefore we would need to adjust your quantity to 1. Please advise if you are happy to proceed."

So I've told them to proceed with the order and have ordered the second from RS.

I was under the impression that all sites were supposed to be limiting to 1 per customer - but that's obviously been 'forgotten' by some of them. CPC must have been reminded...

Can I buy a top layer for my pibow case which has a slot for the CSI Camera cable?
We're looking into it :-)

Yeah, both the CPC and RS ordering processes let you order multiple cameras and there is no statement on any of their pages, that I can see, about a per customer limit on the number that you can order.

CPC state that 'due to limited availability initial order quantities are limited to one per customer'.
