I am sorry about your decision, advising users to upgrade from Ubuntu 12.10 to 13.04. 12.10 is supported until april 2014, no need to upgrade to 13.04. Not supporting Firefox 23 (the standard browser, recent version) with Ubuntu 12.10 (not recent but supported, yet) is somewhat strange.

I'm also sorry about that but you should understand that I do this job on my free time and I'm giving you the access to my work for free.
So you should also understand that I'll not spend time to try to fix an issue for only one person which is whilling to use an outdated version of OS which will no more be supported in around 6 mounths...

Of course, you are right. It's your personal time you're offering. RPi-Monitor works very fine (apart the Ubuntu-12.10 issue ...). I have implemented a reverse proxy with apache - an easy way to add https and user authentication to RPi-Monitor.

I am sorry for blaming you - now using RPi-Monitor with Chromium.

I'm having the same problem and get the same error message. :(

I've installed the dependencies.

What else can I try?

Thanks

What is your Distro?
What are the command entered (and their result)?
Did you succeed to install RPi-Monitor in the past? Which version?

I got it working!! I had to retry installing the dependencies three times. 3 is the magic number and it's working.

Thanks
Rich

Went to install the suggested dependencies, which led to further dependencies not being resolved, at which stage gave up, not wishing to disappear down a dependency hole :¬((
Try "sudo apt-get -f install"

If that fails please post the error so it's possible to debug further.

@Xav

Thanks for this awesome program
i use the dynamic.json data. my only issue is i don't know what to change the value to of the following to get what im looking for

the cpu load says "x.xx" instead of what im looking for 0 to 100
and the ram says "xxx.(a bunch of useless numbers)" instead of what im looking for is only the numbers in front if the decimal point

i tried messing with the values for both but i guess i don't know what im doing or if its even supported

another one i gave up on but don't completely care about is the up time, its in seconds instead of Days + Hours + minutes
since i run my pi as a server and a few other projects the uptime could be useful

Thanks for this awesome little package! I've been using it for about a month now and it's great to have data to look at. One thing I've noticed that I'm not using my swap file, and I think this is a good thing. There has been a lot of talk on this forum about wearing out SD cards because of the constant read/write cycles to the swap file. It appears my system isn't using it at all. I wonder how common this is?

Thanks for this awesome tool to help us better understand our systems.

Gratitude!

Rich

In Linux world, the CPU load is used to determine the charge of the machine. Basically, shis is reflected the number of process waiting for an action into the CPU. This number should not exeed the number of processing unit (1 for the raspberry pi). I let you have a look on the internet to know the detail. That's why the value in not in percentage. Measuring the percentage of usage will not reflect the effective load of the CPU.

For the uptime data (and for all other data like ram...), RPi-Monitor is extracting raw data and let the client do the post processing (this is an optimization to have the fewest load impact on the raspberry). That why, in the json you have uptime in seconds and in the interface you have it is a human readable shape.

While load average is reflecting the usage of the cpu, swap partition usage is reflecting the memory usage.
In a system having enough memory, swap partition usage should stay to zero.

Cool, makes sense

I'll look into having the json data being sent & having my PC do the math to try and get the values that way
