Think of a word that rhymes with "Pibrator" - hey, I'm trademarking that one! :D

Its not easy plugging the reader in when the card is in the slot, Whilst it is a USB device (almost all card readers are) its internally connected to the motheroard's USB. Open heart surgery I'm not in the mood for.....
Ah one of those.
I'm trying to work out how I'm going to work around it so bear with me for now :)
Have you tried booting up PiParted with a SD card inserted ?

from wget or curl , too !

ghans
i guess the potential advantage of this is that it would work on systems with less (1.5<) ram , like the pi?
disadvantages
afak using curl & pipe & dd you are not able to Checksum the image ? as it is writen 'on the fly' ..

@SirLagz (lol gd name!) glad it was usefull also i now have enough ram to give it a try ( just no cdrom .. but think i can work round that )
The checksum is actually for the zipfile and not the image itself, so image verification still works.
You can also 'burn' the iso to a USB stick to use PiParted off a USB stick rather than CD.
UNetBootin works for that on linux :)

Re: PiParted - Custom GParted Live CD for Pi (Version 0.04)

Version 0.04 has been released !
Grab it on my blog post @ http://sirlagz.net/2013/04/24/piparted-v0-04/

I believe the non-appearing SD card issue should be fixed now.
Also added an early SD card backup function, which only backs up the SD Card's partitions and not the free space.
e.g. a 4GB sd card with only 2GBs used for the partition should only have the 2GBs backed up.

Feedback would be very welcome !

So I've fried my SD card, so I can't test this for now.
Any volunteers to test the version that was just released ?

Upcoming features - Ability to retrieve and install unofficial distros -
If anyone would like to contribute any distros to the unofficial distros list, I'll be happy to include them

Resizing existing images - the ability to find an image and resize it.

Any other suggestions ?

I'm on the case. Hows about a really noobish way of editing files and copying files to the windoze disk so they can access the EXT4 partition without having to install extra stuff on their windoze box. ?

Can you run a fdisk -l /dev/sdb in a terminal and then try running the PiParted script again ?

That's what I thought I did =/
Can you run cat /bin/piparted | grep PollDisks an see if it returns a function ?
I swear I incorporated it in, unless I uploaded the wrong iso file...

I was looking at the script itself using cat . it has several instances of fdisk -l | awk********. I didn't get as far as working out which bit did what. The web browser isn't working in my copy, or I'd C&P it here running Piparted.

I have a feeling that maybe I uploaded the wrong iso lol...
There should also be lines with 'PollDisks' scattered around the functions

The Official Raspdian at the top of the list. It downloads it all and then decides the only option to write it is /dev/sda which is my main hard drive. It fails to find it on the SD reset option as well, unless I do the fdisk bit first. Once I've done that it all seems to work.

Have you given any thought to using ZRAM? I have installed this on Raspbian Stretch and it fixes all of the problems that I have had with Chrome crashing due to too many tabs open.
