Re: Micro SD Card

Fri Mar 09, 2012 1:21 pm

Hello,

I have tried to search for an answer to this, but have been unable to find a discussion.

I have a few Micro SD Cards laying around of a sufficient size, and an adapter so a standard SD card reader can view it. Would this setup work with the RPi?

Thanks

Steve

Very likely but not guaranteed as there seems to be an issue with Class 10 cards.  The physical size difference between SD and micro-SD is not important.  The adaptor is purely passive; it just pads out the size and re-routes the connections.

Steve,

there seem to varying experiences. We have heard of users with problems, but then we also know that not every (normal) SD-card works.

Today I programmed an image on a micro-SD card in an SD-adapter and the Raspberry-Pi booted and worked fine. (Even though the adapter was made in China ) So there is basically nothing wrong.
