Re: Website back up (obviously)

I"m making this post both to test that posting still works properly, and also to thank Pete Stevens at Mythic Beasts and to recommend them for hosting. And to recommend Pete personally for sterling work holding your elbow when walking along icy pavements in slippery shoes, as excellent company in pubs, and for all your long-distance running needs.

Pete has been particularly good to us over the last few months, when we weren't able to afford to move to a dedicated server, by going above and beyond to keep this site up under horrible conditions. We're hugely grateful to him and all at Mythic. (And hello Fiona!)

We have lots of beer here in Germany. Come and get some, Pete!

I'm gonna miss my daily dose of database errors.

Good job; moving a DB in less than 5 minutes deserves a cold beer.

Some time in the last week, the footer was trimmed to reduce the database load.

This means that we don't know how many users are on the forum. Will this be returning?

Is this why my post count reset? (I don't mind. I hadn't made that many posts) just wondering it it is related or is it because I haven't logged in for ages?
