I ordered with Farhell/Newark very late on March 1 for delivery in the US.  My estimated shipping date is May 14.  Did I get screwed? It looks like people who ordered around that time in the US got much earlier shipping dates. Please let me know your thoughts. Thank you.

Ordered on the 29th, around 8:30am (UK). Farnell changed the delivery date twice... once from mid march to mid april and now... 14 May... I hate to complain but I don't understand why they don't just wait before announcing accurate delivery dates.

I just got off the phone with Element14 here in Australia and they said they have over 34k on back order. This seemed to cover Australia and New Zealand from what I could gather. They won't be able to give me an ETA until next week apparently. I got in 2 hours after launch on the 29th with a pre-order.

I also rang them about an hour ago, from Wellington but from the way Alice spoke she was in Australia somewhere (why is it that everyone else in the world speaks English with a funny accent and only us Kiwis speak it properly ).  I placed my order at 09:30GMT on 29/2, received a confirmation email but no eta on it.  Alice said they had a batch coming in at the end of March and another at the end of April but couldn't say where in the queue mine is sitting.

34,000 across ANZ....wow.

I just noticed that they pushed my delivery date back over a month.  Good thing I have another project going on right now so I won't be too bored.

Well, while I certainly understand that frustration, at least you're getting them far fast then you would have with the RPF only being able to order 10k batches at a time

Element14 (Aus) charged my card today. No ETA given as yet, although I notice that newly placed orders are being quoted 66 days, whereas it was only 36 when I ordered.

I don't really mind when it turns up. I pre-ordered a Pandora. I've seen delays, man.

My ship date with Newark/Farnell has been changed to May 15 according to an email I received today.

I was hoping to get one before I left for Germany this sumer. I guess it isn't going to happen. Maybe I can get one while in Germany. I'll have to see if they ship to an APO.

I ordered mine about the same time from Newark and also received a May 14th date. A friend of mine ordered his about the same time and has a late March date... strange.

You other guys are lucky.

I got my order confirmed at 1711 (0611 GMT) on the NZ Element14 site, and I still can't get an answer about the delivery date.

Even after emailing they can't say.

Also why is it that the UK folks the only ones to get Tshirts.

i don't have a problem that the TShirt order is less than 10k, but fair is fair, spread them around the initial orders.

At the least you could offer it as an extra for those ordering on the launch date.

Any new orders are showing 66 days, (it was 38 days).....but hey at least they are coming, and they are a success.

ETA April. I ordered by phone so I only have an order number, no official conformation.

Got another email from farnell this morning. My April 16th date is now 14th may.
With the large orders being placed by the company I had hoped it might come forward. Very disappointing.
So my hope of getting one in feb (the given date of release for quite a while) is now may and I"m guessing likely to slip further.
Is there anything else out there that is similar that is shipping (eg cubox not shipping)

Yes, my mid April date is now mid May.

I'm not that surprised, they must be producing getting on for a million of these and there's sure to be something that's not in stock and has to be made to get those quantities. It only needs one bit for the whole thing to have to wait.

I struggled through the Farnell 'lies about scheduled maintenance' (assuming they were telling the truth I got their phone number from the site and found lines didn't open until 0830 and so went back to bed - the site was telling the truth again by then and so I succeeded in ordering - one of the first to get in after the scheduled maintenance finished I thought!) to get a confirmed order at 08:19 on 29th with an estimated delivery of w/c 26th March. However by the next day another acknowledgement updated this to w/c 23rd April. Good news though they are not charging for shipping and so total cost of order is £29.46 - a bit more expensive than RS Components who were quoting just under £22.

Just after I posted (ETA w/c 23rd April) I received a third e-mail from Farnell putting the delivery date back to w/c 14th May. Not very pleased but at least RISC OS will probably be working by then.

No delivery date yet, order confirmation at 0653 GMT. I ordered from Singapore. I have yet to see somebody living in APAC get a delivery date.

Mine also just got kicked back a month to mid-May as well. I'm pretty sure I got in earlier with RS so hopeful for a shorter wait from them.

Don't worry - I'm in the UK and I didn't get the option of a T-Shirt.  My guess is they starting giving away free stuff to take people's minds off the pain they were experiencing.
