I placed my order 0619GMT and got confirmation at 0621.

Anyone earlier? After 0630 the servers were pretty dead

I was able to poke around some at 0600.5 but was very confused about how to order in North America, since it wasn't listed on the Newark or Allied sites. Couldn't figure out which Farnell page to go to, or which country to choose or what, so I just followed twitter hoping for some infos, and eventually gave up frustrated.

Wow, you did well then, the servers were pretty much dead at 0600 and 30 seconds for me. The best I did was see the product on Farnell"s website (UK) as available, but whenever I tried to add it to my basket, it just hung and I couldn"t check out.

I'm more interested to hear if anyone was able to order from the first batch, got confirmation, and is having it shipped soon. Any ship date past about the middle of this month probably means you didn't get a batch 1 order. I've been trying to find out if anyone actually did get to order one from batch 1 and have only heard of it from the user Tass here on the forum. I PM'd Tass in hopes they had confirmed with Farnell they were getting one...it'd be the first report I've heard of anyone actually getting one.

I did a Vlog about the whole launch, and would love to be able to say that someone actually is getting one when I do my next one.

I was trying to get in right from the beginning, from Finland which generally has pretty good Internet links...  and was basically stymied from the word go.  The lack of direct links to the real product pages definitely won't have helped with server load.

I'm amazed anybody got one. Raspberrypi.org responded immediately at the top of the hour and I then followed the distributor links right away -- within the first minute -- only to find dead websites, and that's the whole story.

Yes, I was wondering whether one of the admins might tag this with "wounds", "rub", "git", "salt" and "smug"... and then implement some sort of "anti-search" algorithm so that I can avoid it. (A subset of the tags would also prove useful for filtering out some of the other threads.)

I must of been dead on 6:00 to be honest if not a little before.

Checked RS saw the register your interest and thought ok........ try farnell, managed to add it to the basket only to see no item added! I battled with this for about 5 to 10 mins adding and checking out everytime saying no item in basket or no item with that code, to be honest it is now all a blur (not a morning person) then the servers died! Well I had to get ready for work and ended up phoning farnell at work about 9 ish and pre ordered me one over the phone (old school) got an estimated delivery of 24/4/2012. I was a little bit tired and disappointed but all in all happy I have a date. Just counting down the days now

Both sites were down starting from 0600 for me too, although RS seemed to open up a bit once everyone realise it was just an 'express interest' page ^_^

I finally got an order through around 0800 with an estimated delivery of the week commencing on 12/03/12, I'm not holding my breath to get it that soon though

I've checked with Farnell and mine is expected to arrive w/c 12/3/12. I started the order process at about 6:45am after having difficulties registering with Farnell and finished the order process at about 7:15am.

I think I beat all of you by about 8 hours....and yet, my registration seems to have gone missing.RS say I should go and register AGAIN!

posted in the off-topic forum, but probably more appropriate here

----------------------------------------------

I've got a little story

I registered my interest at the RS website on…

February 28th, 10:22pm UK time

I happened to be browsing the site looking for other items when a banner became visible at the top of the page…I was aware the launch was next day, but thought, ok..while I am here I will register my interest…then I can pay for it tomorrow ..the 29th.

So yes, something stinks here….

P.S. I have not received confirmation email from RS.
