Re: I think we need to break up the forum differently.

Honestly, as it is right now, we have three forums that have almost the same content in them. I think we need to separate it out a bit better.

Here are my 2 cents:

1. General Discussions. <- News and other things that don't fit.

2. Getting started. <- Where you go when you're new. Gives you your options and helps you get started. How-to's, links, and the sort.

3. Software. <- Talk about Linux distributions and software that will run on them. Subforums with different distributions wouldn't be a bad idea.

4. Consumer hardware. <- SD cards, HDMI, USB, etc

5. Development and DIY electronics.

6. Educational.

7. Off-topic

Sorry about the double thread. I blame your rampant database connection errors.

Also, we might also want a RPI case forum.

Perhaps, seeing your username, the software decided to terminate?

This has been discussed a few times before, but you will appreciate that this isn't the best of times to raise the question! There are moves afoot to mothball this forum and start a new one with new software, that will reflect the changed priorities of the site.

Its highly unlikly that the present site will be usable other than some sort of searchable archive when this comes about, as it will be immensely difficult to migrate the content.
I'm just a bouncer, splatterers do it with more force.....
