The logo competition is now open! See http://www.raspberrypi.org/?p=55 for details. If you're too young to participate but still want to take part, I'd suggest you ask a parent to submit your work for you.

We need email submissions for your entries, but if you'd like to post your work in this thread too so other people can see the fruits (ho ho) of your labour, go ahead!

Is it UK only or can people from other countries compete as well?

To give an example, these are my entries voor the logo contest:

This is about as far as my inkscape skills go (first time I used this application actually). Maybe I'll do some more attempts in September if some other people have shared their work. And then I'll use Adobe Illustrator where I've some more experience with.

(of course I've also mailed the high quality versions to [email protected])

Thanks. I actually did not think creating a raspberry could be this hard. The biggest problem of the logo is that it should be recognizable as a 10x10px version. So you can't put to many details in it, but it still has to look good on a t-shirt (yes, I would wear a t-shirt of Raspberry Pi :) ).

In the description you say it needs to be 1000 px square, does that mean 100x100 px or 1000x1000x px?

It means 1000x1000 (last time I checked, 100x100 was 10,000!)

So does that mean the logo itself should be square, or can one side be longer? (of the logo not the JPG file)

The logo can be any shape you want - that's just a limitation on the size of the JPG file so my inbox isn't borked by a bajillion gagantu-logos.

Thought I'd chip in with my idea. Simple, with 3 references to pi for geek cred, and looks good small and b&w, imo.

Awesome project, too, looking forward to seeing all the awesome projects this will be a part of.

I'm really, really pleased with the response we've had so far - we've had some outstandingly good entries. (And a few that look as if the raspberry has some sort of pox, but those are brightening my day too.) Keep up the good work, folks!

JRowe, that's a pretty creative design, I like it. Although I can't help but think that the Pi symbol should be bigger.

Alright, since everyone else is posting their designs:

hmm somehow i can´t help myself, but some of the designs are looking like grapes insted of a raspberry...
you guys did a hard one with choosing a raspberry instead of a .. err... pear maybe..

edit: strawberry!! that would´ve been awesome.. i love strawberrys..!

i'd have gone with a kiwi or kumquat -- much easier to draw

Yeah - it's funny the things (like the ease of designing logos) that don't even cross your mind for a moment when you choose names for companies!

just wait until you get to the "designing the tee-shirt" part of things. we nearly came to blows (if that had been possible over muc) when we got to that stage in the jsf -- things you thought were obvious will be picked apart and ridiculed and you'll just say "sod it lets scrap the whole thing and redo the logo again from scratch" :)

Yeah, I guess they probably do look too much like grapes. Is this better?
