Its not bad but I think it has too many details.

The raspberries seem to be real, I think you can´t easily use it in other colors and/or resolution.

Okay, I did a rework on the logo and came up with this current rough design

Yeah, I guess they probably do look too much like grapes. Is this better?

I like this one :-)

You made drawing a good looking piece of pi look so easy, it's so simple my mind is blown.

You have a nice logo, but sadly it resembles this logo a bit too much. :( Just trying to help you avoid legal trouble.

I'm not a graphic designer, but I do have an idea that maybe someone with more talent could implement. I think of the RasPi having the same kind of effect that the BBC B did in the '80s (namely, created a massive surge of interest in computers). So as a kind of homage/nod to the roots of ARM I thought a logo similar to the old Acorn one might be appropriate.

The logo I'm thinking of is this one: http://www.mjpye.org.uk/images.....n_logo.gif

Instead of having a whole raspberry I thought there could just be an outline of the left edge of a raspberry on the extreme left of the logo. The outline would be red/burgundy, with a small green part at the top to represent the sprig of vegetation. The name would be written totally in lower case and would be split across two lines. "raspberry" would be written on the top line in the same red/burgundy as the logo, and "pi" would be written on the second line in the same green as the logo. Both lines together would be the same height as the Raspberry outline, and the words would almost sit inside the curves of the outline.

Maybe I've described that dreadfully, but if anyone thinks they know what I'm getting at and thinks it's a decent idea then feel free to use it.

My favourite so far - only I would mix the two - Text of the top one with the graphic of the bottom one. Also, since Pi is in referrence to Python, we need to add a snake to the graphic:

...but not this snake - that's something I pinched off of google images to illustrate my point. I'm sure you could design one better than me.

i still keep looking at the bbc micro owl logo and trying to think of ways to use that style for raspberry pi -- maybe the dots are raspberry shaped and they make a pi symbol?

That's really nicely done Lochie, and incredibly generous of you to offer me credit for it, but if one of them does win then there should at the very least be a shared credit for the design. I couldn't have put something that professional together in a month of Sundays.

Here they are:

Don't know if posting it here counts as entering the competition, but I'm assuming it does given it's an official thread.

No you still need to send the files in the correct format to the contest email address. The person doing all the handling of the contest might not be a forum user although i suspect it's liz with her 5th or 6th hat on

Thanks Michael, hopefully they generate a win for someone! :P As for the fonts, I slimmed them down a bit before sending the vectors to statto, hopefully they turn out a little prettier! Thanks for the feedback.
