Very good indeed tnelsond, the monotone looks really good ! I think you've your idea, just need to perfect things a little.

Thanks, would you care to expand on that? Is there anything in particular you notice that should be fixed?

Did it look too much like corn?
Is this better?

Indeed, this one is already better ! Didn't noticed the corn point of vue, until you said it ^^
The font suit the drawing, yet I would like to see it differently placed. Something more classic maybe, like two straight line of text... And Pi under the 'rry' of 'raspberry'. Or something like that. You'll probably find something much better and original than me !

Keep the good job !

I like nearly every one of your ideas.
I agree with Marchombre, that the second picture of tnelsond is better.

But why won´t try something different to the old Pi-Symbol and raspberry-drawing?
I don´t know how, i´m bad at graphics but maybe someone could try something like that.

Arrgh designing a logo is really tough! There are some really good ideas already.
Watch out though I'm desperate to win it!

just doodles, use 'em if you want.
maybe it would look better with a female USB port in the top of the raspberry?

im surprised that there haven't been more logos with pies.

@idhats, your doodles look good, are you going to finish them and send them in? I like your raspberry. They need to be in a vector format. I actually did make a pie one pretty similar to yours, but I didn't like mine very much so I didn't post it to the forum. And I had thought (but didn't) of using the pi symbol as steam too, we must think alike. :)

this was my third effort. i think this is the one i'll work more on as it looks quite good tiny 1cm x 1cm (and b&w) and not too bad large

@ukscone perhaps you should make the colors have a bit more contrast. Neon pink, neon green, and white perhaps aren't the most contrasting colors. Then again maybe it's enough, I don't know, just something to consider.

yes. it looks quite good small and as a grren and white image (or black and white) but i'l not that happy with how it looks as a large full colour image. i'm still working on it as i like the general idea it just needs making better :)

i do like the font although there are probably better ones out there

I did some color research before I created my logo, just to extend my knowledge of forbidden color combinations.. I did not really find any usefull link that I can share, you can always use google for that. What I do recommend is using http://kuler.adobe.com I use it for almost all my graphics projects, just to find the perfect color combinations and contrasting colors.

You can even do a search for raspberry and find color combinations that other people made: http://kuler.adobe.com/#themes.....=raspberry

Alright, just doing another test.
I again redid the raspberry part. The left has a bigger stem and the right has a smaller stem.
The one on the left has the text arranged how Marchombre suggested.

So which parts look good? Should the text be arranged as the one on the left? Should the druplets be distorted like the one on the right? Should the stem be small like the one on the right?

Or did the older one look better than either of these two?

I think the one on the right looks better, the text enhances the image and the Pi is smaller, the one on the left looks too much like the Olympic torch or flame

@tnelsond
I will if i find some time, been scrambling with course registration and everything. I just posted those so that someone who was out of ideas could see what they could do. I think it would look good as one of these glossy icons you see all over the interwebs. I'll see what I can come up with, but I don't mind if someone else uses it. I'll be a good sport about it if they win, haha.

anyways, if I find some time, i'll `vectorize` them and make em look pretty.

a couple of years ago i knocked up a logo for a group i was/is involved with unfortunatly i skated too close to the edge with the companies trademarks and ip so i was denied permission to use it but i was messing around with it for a few minutes this afternoon and although i haven't tidied it up or actually done it neatly i thought it might be fun to post it

:)

Hi. This is my submission. It's basically a pie, but if you squint your eyes, it sort of resembles a berry too. :)

To give an example, these are my entries voor the logo contest:

This is about as far as my inkscape skills go (first time I used this application actually). Maybe I'll do some more attempts in September if some other people have shared their work. And then I'll use Adobe Illustrator where I've some more experience with.

(of course I've also mailed the high quality versions to [email protected])

Could it be possible to make the stem a Pi symbol? Just a thought
