I like the look of that case with the cutout R logo and the spectrum of coloured bands not to dissimilar from C64, ZX Spectrum and of course the original rainbow Apple logo :)

Here are the remainder of the logos I submitted, they may help tide people over until the verdict :)

These first two I actually see as one, morphing from one to the other as a startup animation using an old school demo scene effect similar to this: http://www.photonstorm.com/arc.....hiny-balls

01 Raspberry Dots

02 Raspberry Pi Symbol

I then took the dots and tried to give them more personality:

03 Raspberry Dots Squared

04 Raspberry Dots Circled

The precursor to my 07 Raspberry Pi:

06 Pi Circled

09 Pi Pixels

And the precursor to my 13 RP Spectacle Smile:

12 RP Cursive

@gingerbear-dman
Image Morph, needs tweaking a bit...

I used Sqirlz Morph 2.1 freeware, if you want to have a play with it yourself.

I would love to see all the submissions, if that isn't an issue?

@euxneks: I believe there was over 1,000 submissions, that would be very difficult to view and to upload I would imagine.

If also love to see them all. For no reason other than nosiness and to learn.

If everybody included a JPG at 1000px square then it would be pretty easy to create a gallery of them.

It would be pretty fun if they put it up on picassa or some other web album thing, though I'd settle for the top ten ;)

Congratulations Paul - job well done.

Like a lot of other people, I'm now keen to see some other entries (cue Take Hart gallery music) if that's possible.

Anyway, to start the ball rolling, here's a couple of variants of my submission.

1. It's a raspberry with a bite taken out of it ("take a byte")
2. It's got a pi logo in it (the childs body).
3. The child represents the foundations aim to reach young people.

I really like that. If anything, I'd make the Pi symbol even more obvious.

you should change the logo of the 2 raspberries at the top of this website and replace it with the new logo :)

Ah yes. That will be because you are a HUMAN BEING, and therefore hard-coded to see faces in things. It's actually something we liked about the logo - imposing a face on it isn't necessarily a way we're planning to go with it, but it may be something we consider for very young kids.

I didn't see a face in it until someone pointed it out... does that mean I'm not entirely human? O_o

ha ha I still don't really see a face in it! I knew that story my brothers kept telling me about being adopted from somewhere strange was true!

edit PS: any chance of us seeing those top finalist logos? :D

Interesting to note that the logo competition gets more posts in a week then any other subject in the last 6 months.

Well then I look forward to seeing either Eben or Liz dressed up as this at the R-Pi Halloween party :-)
