seeing as everyone else is posting their entries i thought i'd post one of my entries. one i suspect might be the cause of the pox comment Liz made :)

Not at all - some entries have red drupelets with pus-looking yellow seeds. I don't know where that idea comes from, but I've seen more than one - actual raspberries don't have visible seeds.

(Although I have to admit, ukscone - I don't think that's going to be a winning entry!)

I tried to hold out on what I had submitted, but ukscone you always inspire me to show my idea too! (But I'm only putting a smaller version up for viewing :P )

Now horribly aware that I've alienated everyone who submitted a red drupelets/yellow seeds combo. Apologies. We value you for your brains, not your graphical skills.

Yeah, I guess they probably do look too much like grapes. Is this better?

Also, I like the way your Pi symbol is the stem for the raspberry!

Thanks abishur.
So with all the controversy of grape vs. raspberry, I went outside and picked a raspberry, then used it as a reference to create this:

Like this AmyS3?
I think this is just way harder to read at small sizes than a recognizeable icon.
To me it just seems more complicated in a way, which is why I don't think I'll send it in. Maybe If you or I could make the text thicker it would look better.

Re: Logo Competition

well yeah somehow.
i thought about having a propper pi symbol which looks good (shape) but only as a outline like i my try (but with smooth lines), and the text inside in clear not too thick characters so it can be also be read when its small. so it would look more like the pi symbol but with the product name in clear words inside.. hmm somehow i think i wrote the same thing 2 times in that sentence XD

i made my try with wordart in, well yes office, and the outline with gimp from a screenshot of it..
im realy bad in graphics design ^^

maybe i give it another try tomorrow after work... but i still have so much other stuff to do.. awww..

Ok, so something like this, I guess that looks better.

You're right, it looks much better with an outline. Did I just say the same thing twice? Oops. ;)

I couldn't resist putting together one more logo, it's a variation of one I posted over in the logo thread we started because we were too impatient to wait for the official announcement :P

Well, not that it should look like a raspberry, but Xen, your logo is a bit too similar to Blender's logo:

The resemblance is uncanny.

EDIT: I hope this doesn't discourage you, just make sure your work is original and doesn't infringe on trademarks.

Me? No, not yet anyways, I've never got paid to do any designs, but I have made flyers and logos for my church and the events that we have. Thanks for the compliments, I'm flattered :D. I've just graduated from highschool and I suppose I should create a portfolio and start getting some jobs doing design work, programming, photo editing, and other things.

And by "typography" I hope you don't mean that I made the fonts (Because I didn't), I just installed it and put it on a path (The font is "Carter One" and I got it from the Google Web Fonts).

No I meant, good choice and use. Fonts can often look a bit out of place.

That actually is a quite clever design, but I did not recognize the R and Pi if you didn't tell me. To bad it slightly resembles the blender logo.
