Re: News articles and blog posts about Raspberry Pi

It seems that Slashdotters will never get tired of the RPi, even though there's not any finished product released yet! :) It's an epic project.

Unfortunately, the article points out the first 10k devices will be only for programmers... that's not true as said on the blog, and fortunately people already pointed out in the story comments that there's a correction to that on the blog post.

I've emailed Slashdot, and they've added a clarification to the article.

And on another topic entirely:

Yep, and duck liver, veal's head, sheep brain, raw beef (regularly), beef tongue, and oysters (as often as I can) ! No frogs' legs though, that would be cannibalism.

News in (Brazilian) Portuguese!

http://tecmundo.com.br/tecnolo.....-natal.htm

I haven't read the article, going to see if there are any mistakes :)

EDIT: it has lots of errors :( The editors of that site usually do a great job, but this time I'm just disappointed. They said that "every consumer that buys one Raspberry Pi gets another for free", while that's not the intent of the BOGO project (donate one, not getting one for free). That error is even part of a subheader of the article ("Buy one, take two").

Who wants to point the mistake so they can correct it?

If somebody who speaks Brazilian Portuguese wouldn't mind drawing it to their attention, we'd be very grateful! Thanks for the spot, gbl08ma.

pt-BR is not so different from pt-PT, plus there are new laws that say we're going to speak more like each other (bah!). I wouldn't mind pointing out the error, the main problem is that the site needs an user account to comment on articles and I don't want to signup for yet another online account.

I wrote them some corrections to the post. But the moderator of that site must accept my post before it appears.

A Raspberry Pi pessimist? We should have a codeword for that. Sadly Gooseberry may be a little too negative...

There's a statistic I particularly like here: the cost of 5 reams of paper = the cost of 1 Raspberry Pi.

I was bored (iow i should be doing other things i can't face atm) so i consulted the googlic oracle and I discovered that raspberry pie filling is about $6/can so allowing $4 for pastry ingredients you can get 2.5 raspberry pie's for 1 raspberry pi. (premade raspberry pie's are around $22 which is as near as damn it 1:1 especially if you remove the cost of the codecs)

... perhaps not selling one's second-born offspring ...

"In addition, all buyers of a computer, most likely, will have the opportunity to pay for the two devices and donate second child".

;-)

I love Google Translate, but it does make for some amusing mistakes (and serious ones?! : "Breyben emphasizes that "Malina" is primarily designed not to access the Internet, entertainment and office programs"!)
