Re: Logo ideas
I thought of the following one (which I posted over in the what have we missed thread)
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-76SV ... 2/r-pi.jpg
As you can see for yourself, I'm not the greatest artist but the main thing I wanted to show was the way the lines between the druplets (the bumps on the raspberry) were made thicker to make an outline of the pi symbol.
I made a slightly better version with the Gimp
https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-t1UP ... 0/r-pi.JPG
It looks a lot better but I didn't get to use the druplets the way I did in the hand drawn version

just a thought. rather than having the Pi symbol sort of sticking out of the Raspberry why not use color some of the druplets a different colour so that the image is just a raspberry with a pi symbol on it (via coloured druplets) -- i was going to draw it but i can't find a suitable raspberry at the moment

Re: Logo ideas
something like this is what i mean
Re: Logo ideas
I actually thought about doing that (kinda), here's the version I came up with
https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-Pbvq ... /r-pi2.jpg
Alternate version is here
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-w-eW ... /r-pi3.jpg
But I think whoever did this did a lot better than I did!

yes i've seen that one when i was looking for raspberry images. although i'd have to be a fruit-nazi over it as there are definatly some blackberries in there and other non-raspberry fruits

Re: Logo ideas
I think between the two of us we can come up with something decent for a logo although i think we'd need to outsource the actual art skills to someone who can actually draw without sticking their tongue and licking the pencil with concentration and effort

Re: Logo ideas
How do you attach an image on this site (Jpeg). As I have my logo ideas.

i don't know how to do it properly i just paste in the url of where i have uploaded it but there seems to be an image tag in the message editor so maybe that's how you do it.
and sorry MDC i meant between the three of us we should be able to come up with something good as a logo
i miscounted how many people posting to the thread

Re: Logo ideas
I don't think you can... let me try a test
If that shows up as an image instead of a link then here's the answer
1) Upload your image to a photo sharing site or any website you can upload files to (I use Picassa a free service provided by google)
2) Get the url of the image (right click on the picture and choose view image, this will give you the direct URL of the photo)
3a) If the above photo isn't directly displayed, then just paste the link and we can click on it to view it (it's what we've been doing).
3b) If the photo is directly displayed then up in the quick reply toolbar, next to the link button is a picture button. Click on it then put the URL to the photo in between the (img) (/img) (it actually uses [ ] brackets, I changed them so you could see it)

Re: Logo ideas
VERY cool! We can directly post images to the board!
Here's a direct photo to my other logo ideas (just because I can directly post them!)
Initial idea
The cleaned up version is the one in my previous post
Two modifications suggested by ukscone

Bingo there you are. I thought of the idea a while ago but just thought I would put it on to see what people think. Sorry about the privacy mistake.

I like the fact that you know what a druplet is! I have suspicion that a random sampling from this board would make for an awesome pub quiz team.

Yes it's right next to one of the W's I have on each bum cheek to spell wow. I saved myself some money with the O as I had that already.
