So what should we talk about for the next 3-4 months

Just a thought, but what do we talk about for the next 3-4 months. I'm guessing that most of the chat on this forum will actually come from people talking about what they have done, trouble shooting ect, but what about now.

So whats the weather like where you are?

Well hate to say it but the weather in East Anglia has taken a nice turn for once..

The weather where I live is HOT. It's been over a hundred every day for the past month with no signs of rain.

I should hasten to add that we do not usually spend our weekends in boats on the Mediterranean - I'm reviewing a new cruise ship for my day job (hard life), and Eben has been downgraded to +1 status!

Not the best weather here in Melbourne.
Mostly sunny morning. Scattered showers developing this afternoon and evening. Winds northerly averaging up to 40 km/h tending north to northwesterly up to 25 km/h by early evening.
No UV Alert, UV Index predicted to reach 2.

Lucky in Texas we have a UV index predicted to be 10+, though thankfully we're still not breaking any records for hottest day or anything like that. Still I sure would like to see some rain reach me, I don't live in a desert and I'd prefer to keep it that way

So far so good here in Eastern Canada, after a bit of showers its nice and sunny, though no heatwave weather here like the rest of Canada and pretty busy here saving for college in september and saving to buy like 4-5 of the Raspi's

Heh...it's still going to be aiming for record temps all the same, somewhere between 107 to 110 (NWS is predicting 108...) is what I'd heard from the varying weather sources for today and tomorrow's high around DFW. We're supposed to be breaking them this week.

Most of the Raspberry Pi team is actually based around Cambridge (Eben and I live near Newmarket too), apart from Pete, who's up in Cheshire. Whenever I've been up to visit him, it's rained.

this is so cool.. finally a sign of intelligent people around me ^^
i only met ..well.. airheads since i came to england.. despite the fact that newmarket is only 15miles from cambridge..
but i think i cant complain if i work as a temp in warehouses or factorys ^^
i realy need to find a more sophisticated job soon. i already feel my knowledge fading away...
but i still like it here! england is great.!

btw. suns out in newmarket now as well.. shu shu go away.. bad sun.. the enemy of coders hehe

Heh... It'd still just be hot. Unless you're under mother nature's natural air conditioner, a Shade Tree (As a result of their photosynthesis process, they actually drop the temperatures underneath them by as much as 10 degrees below the in the shade temp...) it's just going to be brutal out there.

So I know it was a joke, but so far we've talked about an umbrella here and some t-shirts over on the "What have we Missed" thread. Are the any ideas for some Merchandise being released sometime soon (perhaps even before the r-pi is released)? Maybe once a logo is decided on....

I like the idea a lot - obviously, the priority at the moment is getting the boards out, but I'll definitely be looking into it.

oh dear we missed a trick with the naming of the device. whose idea was it to add the -Pi part to the name? if it was just called the Raspberry we could have all kinds of good slogans such as "I'm just a Raspberry Fool"

I think the marketing possbility of Raspberyr Pi Umbrellas would be excellent.

They would need more than the logo on though - probably a picture of the board and a slogan about introducing kids to programming.

You could talk to the olympics people too, maybe an opportunity for some free umbrellas given out to athletes or audience.

3-4 months was a tad optimistic..... 

But I was just thinking about the umbrellas - apart from the anomalistic rain they've had in the past few days, Cambridge and the South East of England have been missing out on the rain front for a while now, unlike the West and North of the UK.  I suspect that in a few yars time, the only mint condition Raspberry Pi umbrellas will be located in the south east UK!!!
