Raspberry pi zero w wifi country not set?

Thu Oct 01, 2020 7:27 am

Fist time using a raspberry pi. I have installed retropie onto the pi zero w and now
I'm trying to connect to the wifi. Before I get to the screen to connect to the wifi I keep getting a message saying wifi country not set. I go in and put in my country, then choose my network, put in the password. Then it tells me unable to connect to network.
Also my pi zero has no IP address?

Please help.

Is that WiFi SSID using 5GHz - a pizeroW only has 2.4GHz WiFi ?

Did you make a wpa-supplicant file before loading the SD care to your Pi?
something like this:

ctrl_interface=DIR=/var/run/wpa_supplicant GROUP=netdev
update_config=1
country=<Insert 2 letter ISO 3166-1 country code here>

network={
ssid="<Name of your wireless LAN>"
psk="<Password for your wireless LAN>"
}
RPI3B+ - Raspberry Pi OS -general "playing" and/or RetroPi
RPI0W#1 - MotionEyeOS - yard surveillance
RPI0W#2 - Driveway gate monitor - coming soon
RPI0W#3 - ?????
