Reading LM75X, i.e. LM75A product id?

Mon Aug 24, 2020 2:14 am

I can't seem to find an example of how to read the onboard chip product id code for a LM75 series sensor. Per the datasheet, if should be register 07h (0x07), i.e. 111. And returns 1 byte. But when I do the read of the 1 byte, it is always 255 or 0xFF. This does not seem correct.

I can read the temperature data just fine, and there are many examples of how to do this.

I would also like to find an example of how to turn the power mode on the sensor on and off as well.

just to be clear
#1 can you read any other registers correctly?
#1.1 perhaps only the reading of temperature register works? in which case you are probably not selecting the register mapping correctly (temperature is the default register map)
