Yes. Although I would shy away from something so cheap if you can, but that's me being a skeptic so you're probably fine.

Depends what you want to use it for. The USB ports on the 'Pi are full size (the "A" end of the cable you show) The micro-USB (the "B" end) would be suitable for power supply only, which you could use from, for example, a PC.  I don't believe the micro-USB on the 'Pi carries any signal lines.

There are some really stinking reviews about the quality though. Issues about the cable not allowing devices to charge properly and also falling apart. I might have to spend the extra 9p and get one from Poundland!

I am not sure whereabouts in the forums it is (do a search on "wet string"), but Dom bought a 99p USB cable that you put 5V in one end of, and which produced 4V at the other. Caveat emptor. Personally I'd suck it down and spend a bit more, and forgo the day's coffee.

But if you put in 4V from the other end can you get 5V out of it?

So - if he'd plugged it in the other way around, maybe he would have got 6V out!
