Mistake with GPU memory [solved]

Sat Jul 04, 2020 11:36 pm

I think i did a very big mistake cause i tries to increase the GPU memory to around 658 MB, and when i rebooted it just was some text in the rop tight Said something like ”could,nt increase the memory” i think. And then it just got black and the fan just stops but it,s a red light on the pi. This actually happened to Me before and then I was reinstalling the os and then all my things was just Gone. How do I keep everything after my os reinstall?

Take your SD or USB boot device out, then edit config.txt on a another computer to change the gpu_mem parameter back to 64 or 128.

It says that the media is writeprotected when I try to save after I changed the gpu_mem to 128

Which "it" ?

I.e., are you editing the file on a Windows machine or something else?

I’m using a 64 bit windows 10 to edit but does it work on windows 7?

If your using an SD card adapter (https://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-microSD- ... B0047WZOOO) there is a switch on the side for write protection. You might want to try flipping that switch and see if that resolves your write protection problem.
