Rpi 3 vs 4 power supply

Hello , upgrading from Rpi 3B to 4 - I assume there is power supply compatibility?

If you want to use your existing pi3 power supply you will need an adapter to convert micro USB to USB-C.

And depending on what peripherals are attached you should be aware that the Pi 4 can draw more current. A 3Amp supply is recommended, though in most cases the 2.5 amps from the Pi 3 supply should be enough.

I ran my Pi 4B on the older official 2.5A supply with an adapter, with no issues. I didn't have a whole lot of extras connected, just monitor, keyboard and mouse. The new supplies were sold out when I ordered my Pi 4B. I have since went to the new supply. My advice is to buy the new matching supply. Then use your current one with your Pi 3 and double your fun. ;)

I don't like adapters.
The Pi4 PSU is cheap and smaller than the old Pi3 one:
