card stuck wrong state, busy_detect 0xf00 did my SD card go bad? Is this recoverable?

Sat Jun 06, 2020 4:55 am

My rpi4 which runs all manner of services and has a butt load of configuration and images on it (but all the data is on hard drives..)
suddenly stopped being accessible. When I booted it to a monitor, I see "card stuck in wrong state! card_busy_detect status 0xf00
mmcblk0: recovery failed and so on.

Is there anything I can do about this? Is the card fried?
Am I configuring new from scratch on a new card?
thanks for suggestions

If it were me I would try reading that card from a PC running Linux or another Pi with a USB SD card reader dongle.

If it is readable at all you could at least try to salvage any files, configurations, etc you have on there.

After that I might reflash it with a fresh operating system image and see how it works.

Generally though I get nervous about media after errors show up. They go in the bin.
