Editing Top Main Bar

Mon May 18, 2020 3:36 pm

I would like to edit the main menu bar. I can see how to edit the menus under the rapsberry but not the top level. I want to remove Chromium and replace it with FIrefox. Can someone point me to the right documentation? TIA.

FYI the "top main bar" is called the panel. Raspbian uses lxpanel.

Right-click on the panel, click Panel Settings, and change everything you want. Specifically in your case, if you want to change the application launch bar, you can open its preferences two ways:
  • Right-click on the chromium icon directly --> Application Launch Bar Settings. Then add/remove the menu buttons you want.
  • Right-click on the panel, click Panel Settings, go to Panel Applets, select Application Launch Bar from the list, and then click Preferences.
All that said, Linux is awesome!!! :ugeek:
I've developed the most intuitive RaspiOS img editor on the planet.
With a GUI similar to Gparted, managing imgs and sd cards is a breeze!
Boot it in a VM, Flash from the Internet at top speed, Mount (to drop in files), Shrink/Expand, Repair, and more.
