Display with 2 connectors

Fri Apr 24, 2020 11:45 am

Hi, I have a touch display & I want to use it with my Raspberry Pi 3B but on the display there are 2 connectors: one for the screen and another for the touch. How can i connect my display with the raspberry Pi 3B? Thanks

You're going to need to provide a load more information than that.
If the two connectors happened to be HDMI for the display and USB for the touch, then it's a doddle. If not, then you'll probably need a full datasheet for the display. If you're lucky it may be a DPI panel that will work with an Adafruit Kippah, but check rather than making any assumptions.

The tablet has got an HDMI output port and an USB input port but the display has got two 50 pins flat cables.

What tablet? Sorry we're not mindreaders.

You'll need a datasheet for the display before you can do anything. Look at the display for any reference codes, and then Google for that reference (possibly adding in the word display) in the hope that it may turn something up. Without that it is a total non-starter. Even with that it may not be possible.
There is no standard wiring for flat connectors. They are often custom for the specific customer who ordered the displays.

Can you be any more vague?

You need to find the exact model number of the LCD panel used and then you need to find a datasheet. There is no standardised connection like HDMI for these panels.

That does not change what 6by9 wrote.

A Datasheet is a Technical Document which shows the functions of the Input / Output Data Connections as well as Timings etcetera etcetera...

...even if you found a Datasheet you would need to build an interface board.

.. And as the OP has no idea what a data sheet is and also failed to answer the question which ' old tablet' (appropriate answer would be manufacturer, model, etc) his display comes from he will most like fail to design a full custom interface board for it.

If there isn't even a public datasheet then the chances of getting this LCD working are extremely low. You need to find something else to use for your Pi. If you want an easy life then make sure it says it is compatible with a Pi.

Search internet ebay etc with the screen model number.
You are looking for something like this: https://www.ebay.com/itm/HDMI-DVI-VGA-L ... SwiGRd-HRx
This is just an example and not the one for your screen if one exists........
Unless specified otherwise my response is based on the latest and fully updated RPiOS Buster w/ Desktop OS.
