resolution

Just changed from rpi3 to rpi4.

I had it connected to a 21” led 1080 monitor and it works great, performance much improved when playing videos on iPlayer. But now, have it connected to a 4k 70” Vizio TV.
The problem is I am somewhat visually impaired and I cannot see the desktop icons, way too small.
Using raspi-config I changed resolution to 1080 and then 720, but it made no difference!
Hopefully someone will help me resolve this issue. Cheers.

Look at the menu, Preferences - Appearance settings. Try the last tab first, then fine-tune with the first few tabs settings.

Made the changes you suggested, but it made no difference. In the defaults screen I set the large screen defaults. However, it did not ask for resolution settings
In raspi-config, Advanced Settings, Pi 4 Video Output, Pi 4 video output option is 4Kp60 HDMI enabled.
On my pi3 everything worked well, but streaming was not good at all, hence the change to pi4.
Hoping to get this sorted soon. Thanks for the help

You might want to try the pixel doubling option.

enabled pixel doubling option, but no difference. Do you think it may be a hardware issue? Thanks for your help

Exceedingly strange. Those settings are applied on boot. Are you rebooting after changing these resolution settings?

I do reboot after all changes. I noticed today at boot the top of screen shows 1080 but within 5 seconds that changes to 2160 Very confused!!!
