Hi...

A release date will be necessary ! Otherwise people goes to another board. Others are planing to sell cheaper & quicker board ( +/- 15 $ ).

Other people are more than welcome, both to go to another board and to sell that board.

There is then more chance that I will get a Raspberry Pi sooner.

And if the other people have a board with a published design and software, and if they are developing it into an educational product, then so much the better. And if they are not doing so, then they are not competing with the RPi.

I thought the Grumpy Old Git nailed it with his first post.

If they ship it before the RPi then all power to them.

More importantly, I want the replicator technology they used to make them!

The RPi started being manufactured in the first week of Jan 2012, so it's "Finish the run, pack into container, ship to UK" - and is probably in the "ship to UK" stage right now...

I am not so sure, I think it really deserved two capitals.  NO. would have been much better.

Seriously I have been lurking for a while now and I am amazed by the patience and restraint shown when faced with this relentless question. I would have posted sooner by my math is terrible...

Well done everybody so far.

I will now shut up and continue lurking.

I wonder whether there's any chance that a clearly titled (this thread's title, for instance) sticky might cut down the number of new threads like this?
